Mister Greggy's show is very compact, he only needs the space of about 3 adults standing next to each other. Of course, if you have a larger area available, he can certainly utilize it to entertain your guests. He brings everything he needs, including a table. With over 35 years of experience, Mister Greggy is flexible enough to work with just about any available space.
Main living rooms are usually the best choice, because they are the largest room in the house. Tables and chairs may need to be moved aside to make room for the audience. Garages and basements are also popular choices.
Which room to use depends a great deal on how many children (and adults) will be watching Mister Greggy's show. Keep in mind how much room he'll need to set up (about the space of 3 adults standing next to each other) as well as room for the kids to sit without being too cramped. It's almost always best to have the children sitting on the floor.
Look around and see where most of the light is coming from (such as a large window). Situate the room so Mister Greggy is facing that light source. This makes it easier for the guests to see him, and there won't be any problems with backlighting when taking photographs or videos.
Remember that Mister Greggy is very experienced and can adapt to just about any room situation. If he needs to make adjustments, he will. Greg is very accommodating and easy to work with.
Since Mister Greggy's show is so compact, it only takes a few seconds to setup. Basically, once he arrives the show has begun! If there is larger space available and he sets up his backdrop, it may take another minute. Either way, it's fine if the children watch him set up... remember, Mister Greggy entertains your guests the moment he appears!
Yes he can providing the weather is decent. The main things to consider are the wind, temperature, noise, insects, pets and humidity. Too hot and sunny, and nobody is comfortable. Too windy and it can cause problems with Mister Greggy's props and backdrop. A neighbor mowing their lawn nearby can make it difficult to hear the show. As you can see, there are many potential problems with outdoor parties. If the show must be outdoors, an enclosed patio or gazebo usually works well. If there's any doubt at all, it's always safer to have it indoors.
It's best to serve treats & drinks before or after the show. If snacks are served during the show it's a HUGE distraction for the kids. Serving the snacks, eating them, cleaning up spills (there WILL be spilled drinks), gathering up the plates & cups, etc etc. At this age, the fewer distractions the better. So it's HIGHLY recommend NOT serving goodies during the performance.
The best scheduling of refreshments is to serve low-sugar snacks & drinks while guests are arriving. Save the cake, ice cream & sodas till after the show. Once the kids get all that sugar into their system, you'll want to get them out of there as soon as possible!
Birthday parties are generally more informal a gathering than, say, a wedding. So arrival times will vary. Expect everybody to arrive within the first 15 to 30 minutes. So it's best to have Mister Greggy begin about 30 minutes after the announced start time of the party. This prevents distractions from late arriving guests. Depending on which package you decide on, the show lasts anywhere from 45 minutes to 2 hours.
Absolutely! Feel free to watch and participate in his show. It's also very entertaining to watch and enjoy the children's delight and amazement when Mister Greggy is performing.
His show includes plenty of audience participation and interaction, however it helps tremendously if there is at least one other adult in the "show room" at all times. This enables Mister Greggy to focus on entertaining and fun without being put into the position of baby sitter or disciplinarian to deal with the occasional disruptive child.
